  • Press Release

Ottawa, April 5, 2017:  CBIE, along with its member institutions, has launched the Canadian Learning Abroad Alumni Community.

This network enables Canadians who have had a learning abroad experience to engage with like-minded individuals and help inspire others to undertake learning abroad by sharing experiences, insights and advice.

This network is a supporting pillar in CBIE’s national campaign Learning Beyond Borders which launched on February 23, 2017.

‘Canada is faced with the challenge of getting more of our students to take advantage of learning experiences in other countries,’ said Karen McBride, President and CEO of CBIE. ‘By leveraging the experiences of the Canadian Learning Abroad Alumni Community we have an opportunity to tell youth that learning abroad leads to enduring outcomes that enhance personal, academic and career goals.’

Membership in this community is open to all Canadians who have completed a learning abroad experience and it can be accessed on LinkedIn through the Canadian Learning Abroad Alumni Community Group.
