Global Affairs Canada’s short-term exchange competitions are now open!

Global Affairs Canada is offering 700+ short exchange scholarships in Canada for international students, faculty and professionals through the 2023-2024 Short-Term Exchange Programs. The Short-Term Exchange Programs continue to have the shared goal of promoting partnerships, student mobility and research collaborations between Canadian and international post-secondary institutions.

Interested candidates should review each program’s guidelines and contact their home institution’s international office to learn about partnerships and student exchange agreements with Canadian institutions. Home institutions will then provide eligible candidates’ documentation to their partners in Canada. Canadian post-secondary institutions must submit scholarship applications on behalf of students, faculty and/or staff from eligible countries/territories by March 21, 2023.

Scholarship opportunities for students from Southeast Asia

Global Affairs Canada is offering short-term scholarships to students from member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) for study or research opportunities with Canadian post-secondary academic institutions for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Canadian post-secondary academic institutions can now submit scholarship applications on behalf of students from eligible countries by March 28, 2023. Only applications submitted directly by Canadian post-secondary academic institutions will be considered.

Interested candidates should contact their home institution’s international office to learn about institutional partnerships and collaboration with Canadian institutions.

  • Program name: Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED)
  • Funding organization: Global Affairs Canada
  • Target audiences: Students at the college, undergraduate and graduate levels in Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand or Vietnam
  • Number of scholarships: approximately 125
  • Duration: 4 to 8 months at the college and undergraduate level; 4 to 6 months at the graduate level
  • Inclusions: Visa and/or study/work permit fees, airfare, health insurance, living expenses, ground transportation expenses, books and supplies
  • Deadline: March 28, 2023

Scholarship opportunities for Canadians in OAS member states

The Organization of American States (OAS) is offering a scholarship opportunity for students and professionals seeking to advance their skills:

2023 Academic Scholarships Program: One scholarship (valued at up to 10,000 USD per year for up to two years) will be awarded to a Canadian citizen or permanent resident to study or conduct research, at the Master’s or PhD level, leading to a degree from a university in an OAS member state.
