The Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Canada (TECO) has requested CBIE assistance with the selection process for Canadian participants in an International Seminar on 2017 Global Youth Trends Forum- Youth Initiatives for Sustainable Development in Taipei, Taiwan, in October 2017. TECO has asked CBIE to compile one application on behalf of Canada which would include a delegation of 5-7 students (aged 18-30) with 1 group leader (responsible for delegation). To learn more about last year’s delegation, click here.

If the Canadian delegation is selected to participate in the seminar, they will be required to present on key issues during a workshop as well as to host a national culture exhibition booth. Participants are responsible for their own international travel, all other expenses will be covered by the Youth Department in Taiwan. The official language of the seminar is English.

Interested students and group leaders (staff supervisors) should express their interest to Shelby Raven SRaven@cbie.ca by June 28th, 2017. CBIE will work within TECO’s guidelines to select the delegation members.

Students should include the following in their expressions of interest:

1-      Full name, program, institution and contact details

2-      Statement of interest in the opportunity (1 page maximum) which answers the following:  Why are you interested in this opportunity? What makes you an ideal candidate for the delegation? How will this experience contribute to your overall educational experience?

3-     Vision for the workshop, including their preferred topic for the presentation

Group leaders should include:
