Message from the Chair
While working with the International Network of Tomorrow’s Leaders (INTL) community, I have witnessed through others and experienced first-hand the benefits of the hard work and dedicated programming that this PLC provides.
As INTL Chair, I appreciate the time and effort our members have volunteered to this community and value their contributions. It was a fantastic opportunity to work with such talented new professionals in the field of International Education. Here is a brief overview of the events and work done by our brilliant team this year:
The Bursary subcommittee evaluated 45 applications and awarded ten (10) bursaries for new professionals to attend their first CBIE Annual Conference.
The Mentorship subcommittee matched fifty-four (54) mentors with sixty-seven (67) mentees and provided webinars, newsletters, and feedback surveys to support participants.
The Networking subcommittee planned and hosted a number of virtual and in-person networking opportunities, including a new Summer Bingo Networking event.
The Championing sub-committee hosted two guest speakers who shared their journey and answered questions from our community.
The Events subcommittee organized the INTL events at the CBIE annual conference, which included a breakfast panel and a networking event.
The Communications subcommittee did a great job supporting the work and efforts of the rest of the team.
In 2024, the INTL PLC consisted of a two-person Leadership Team, including one chair and a CBIE Liaison. INTL’s Working Group included forty-three (43) members, twelve (12) subcommittee co-leads and twenty-seven (27) associate members. The team came together throughout the year for meetings and team-building opportunities, and subcommittees hosted their own meetings for project updates and planning.
I am pleased to present the annual report outlining INTL’s wonderful work and events it ran this year—cheers to the connections made in 2024 and to continuing to grow our network and reach in 2025.
Sincerely,
Jacqueline Veres

Special Thanks
Serving as the INTL Chair this year has been a fantastic experience – I had the opportunity to work with some incredible new professionals across the country and help build connections. Some of my highlights include the in-person networking opportunities throughout the year and at the conference, as well as seeing the professional development and growing networks of our community members. This has been a difficult year for our sector, and it is times like these when having a PLC and a supportive network is invaluable – so I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to the INTL PLC this year.
I also want to thank Dr. Lisa Brunner! Your mentorship and guidance this year have given me the confidence and support to grow personally and professionally. Also, Sophie, your guidance throughout the year has kept INTL on track and made this a fun and successful year – so thank you.
Finally, thank you to CBIE for providing this network for new professionals to connect and learn together. These opportunities and networks strengthen our personal development and the success of our field. I’m in a unique position where I get to stay on as Chair for 2025 as INTL undergoes a transformation. I’m excited about the new opportunity and to develop a new model for INTL as our community continues to grow. Stay tuned for more great things to come in 2025.
