Ottawa, October 25, 2016: CBIE is pleased to announce that the Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, Minister of International Development and La Francophonie, will be speaking at its 50th Annual Conference.
“We are honoured to welcome Minister Bibeau to our Annual Conference,” said Karen McBride, President and CEO of CBIE, “given the critical role of education in international development, and the importance of international development to our organization and to our member institutions we very much look forward to hearing her insights.”
Minister Bibeau was appointed Minister of International Development and La Francophonie by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in 2015. In this capacity she has a mandate to refocus Canada’s international assistance to help the poorest and most vulnerable people, and support fragile states. Before entering politics, Minister Bibeau began her career at the former Canadian International Development Agency.
Minister Bibeau will be speaking prior to CBIE’s Annual General Meeting on November 15th, 4:30 – 5:00pm in the Confederation Ballroom at The Westin Ottawa.
