Ottawa, November 16, 2015: The Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) is excited to celebrate International Education Week 2015 (IEW, #IEW2015) and to recognize the major contributions of our 150 members across Canada.
IEW will take place from November 16 to 20. Its theme is “Celebrating Canada’s Engagement with the World.” IEW showcases the significant contribution that international education makes to our social, economic, and cultural well-being, and supports Canada’s ongoing efforts on the international stage. Started in year 2000, IEW is now celebrated in over 100 countries around the world. Thousands of Canadians and international students are expected to be actively involved in IEW this year.
“We are thrilled to be leading Canada’s International Education Week 2015 in collaboration with the Council of Ministers of Education” said Karen McBride, CBIE President and Chief Executive Officer. “This week, Canadians will be celebrating and reflecting upon how we as a country engage with our global community through education. I encourage young Canadians especially to get inspired this week and join in this celebration by reading the stories from their peers who have experienced the benefits of studying abroad and also to participate in our student photo and video contest.”
CBIE’s Student Centre proudly hosts Canada’s dedicated webpage which showcases a photo and video contest and features blogs, videos and stories from Canadians and international students alike.
The Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) is Canada’s national organization dedicated to making Canada a global leader in international education. CBIE’s pan-Canadian membership comprises 150 colleges, institutes, universities, school boards and language schools which enroll over 1.2 million students from coast to coast.
