Ottawa, April 12, 2016: CBIE is pleased to announce the accreditation of its ISIEP curriculum by the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC).
The ISIEP will prepare International Student Advisers (ISAs), and other professionals working in the education sector in Canada whose responsibilities include offering immigration advice to students, for the entry-to-practice exam to become Regulated International Student Immigration Advisers (RISIAs).
Learners will have the option to complete the program in either official language. It will be delivered entirely online over a span of twelve weeks, with the first course beginning on September 19, 2016.
The program will develop a learner’s skills and knowledge on how to read the primary sources of Canadian immigration law, i.e. the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR), as they pertain to international students.
“CBIE is the central national network for ISAs, and building this education program is a natural extension of our work,” said Karen McBride, President and CEO of CBIE. “The program will cover the scope of immigration policies and practices pertinent to international students and will be a cornerstone professional development offering within our sector, made possible with the support of our members coast to coast.”
Courses in the ISIEP are taught by in-service Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs) or RISIA professionals from across Canada with vast experience in the field of immigration advising. Learners will also have access to an Assistant Instructor who will aid the instructors in their daily activities and be available for student inquiries.
