Submit a Session Proposal

Session proposals will be accepted in digital form. Refer closely to the proposal guide as you draft your submission. Accepted proposals will be presented as a concurrent session.

Criteria Overview:
  • You may not appear on more than two session proposals as a presenter.
  • Each session will be one hour in duration and must include at least two presenters.
  • We encourage: Sessions organized between international partners; bilingual sessions; and innovative approaches to session design.
  • Presenters’ names, titles, and organizations will be used to promote the session.
  • Session organizer is responsible for certifying that all presenters approve the proposal and agree to participate if accepted.

Submit a Pre-Conference Professional Development Workshop Proposal

Pre-conference workshops are intended for participants to engage in deeper discussion and learning about a specific topic relevant to international education and achieve learning outcomes that include enhanced skills, knowledge and understanding.

Criteria Overview:
  • Pre-conference workshops will take place in the afternoon on Saturday, November 17th and all day on Sunday, November 18, 2018.
  • Pre-conference workshops must be full-day (6 hours) or half-day (3.5 hours) in length.
  • Pre-conference workshops must offer a high quality learning experience that has clear learning outcomes for professional development of participants.

Proposal Review and Acceptance

CBIE’s Conference Selection Committee, which is made up of Conference Advisory Committee members and CBIE staff, will review and score the proposals based on pre-determined criteria.

Proposals that best meet the criteria, and contribute to a balanced and comprehensive Conference program, will be selected.

You will be notified of proposal selection by Friday, May 11, 2018.

  • Proposal submitters may be contacted to refine their proposals
  • CBIE reserves the right to combine themed presentations in a group session when appropriate
  • Session titles and descriptions may be edited by CBIE
  • All communications will be sent to the session organizer
  • For accepted proposals, information provided in the online submission will be used in the program
