Session Overview
Now more than ever, educational institutions need to reimagine student services and experiences. This design-thinking workshop will increase the potential and performance of teams and help you discover fresh and innovative solutions to challenges in the sector. This seven-hour training is intended for professionals who need to foster collaboration and find solutions in their educational institutions.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this training session, participants will
- Understand design thinking principles.
- Become familiar with different tools for working in collaborative mode.
- Identify and grasp new opportunities and solutions for higher education institutions.
- Change opportunities into solutions.
- Offer one to three prototypes to a target audience.
Methodology

Learning goals and content
Module 1 – Design thinking and the collaborative process (1 h)
At the end of this module, participants will
- Understand design thinking principles.
- Master different tools for working in a collaborative mode.
- Set their work goal.
Module 2 – Diagnose and identify the problem (1.5 h)
With the help of the consultant, participants will be led to
- Map the problem to solve and identify the stakeholders.
- Collect data to understand stakeholders’ needs.
- Gather information and formulate observations.
Module 3 – Getting involved in creating an innovative project (1.5 h)
With the help of the consultant, participants will be led to
- Outline potential solutions.
- Experience the design thinking process and find key ideas to achieve their goal.
- Choose the winning solutions to develop.
- Suggest one to three prototypes.
Module 4 – Prototype their project (1.5 h)
With the help of the consultant, participants will be led to
- Choose, from among the three prototypes suggested, the one that will be developed and tested by the target audience.
- Prepare communication tools to present the prototype to the target audience.
Module 5 – Test and evaluate their project (1.5 h)
With the help of the consultant, participants will be led to
- Solicit people’s feedback in order to improve or validate one of their three prototypes.
- Think about how to concretely implement the project in their institution.
