Navitas Webinar Series: The Impact of COVID-19 on International Education and the Road to Recovery

16 mars 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm EDT

Coût : Gratuit

As we look toward the horizon and an end to the COVID-19 pandemic, the international education sector now turns its attention to the road to recovery.  In this Navitas webinar series, they unpack data collected and analyzed from their partners worldwide and provide insight on the trajectory of global student flows.

March 16 – 2:00pm-3:30pm (ET)

Part III: The 2021 recovery for international education and expectations for 2022 and beyond

Session Overview

Following on from the two-part series in 2021 on the post-pandemic road to recovery, this webinar will provide a comprehensive picture of how international student mobility bounced back in 2021 and what to expect in 2022 and beyond. Following the sharp dip in 2020, this presentation will examine the extent of the v-shaped recovery across the UK, US, and Canada, and what to expect from Australia now that its borders have reopened. To the extent that there has been a bounce-back, this presentation will also examine which source countries have been quicker to recover and why.

June 29 – 1:00pm-2:30pm (EDT)

Part II: Dynamics of the road to recovery in 2021 and beyond

Session Overview

Building on the foundations set in Part 1, the second part in this series will provide updates on further developments in 2021, including the likely shape of the recovery in international student flows for major destination countries. As part of that recovery narrative, Part 2 will focus especially on the dynamics of pent-up demand, region-specific feedback from education agents, students’ responses to online learning, and the ongoing resurgence of the USA.

May 11 – 1:00pm-2:30pm (EDT)

Part I: The impact of COVID-19 on international education in 2020 and the road to recovery

Session Overview

The research presented spans all major destination countries. It will provide deep insights into the global international student market and draw on many sources from publicly available data to intelligence from Navitas’ offshore network and primary research with their agents.

In this webinar, Jon Chew, Head, Strategic Insights and Analytics, will introduce the conceptual framework used to gather data from pre-, mid-and post-COVID student cohorts and then surface patterns of international student behaviour. He will then take a deep dive into what has actually come to pass in 2020 in terms of key indicators for the major destinations of Australia, the UK, Canada and to a lesser extent the US. There will be a particular focus on the visa processing challenges that have held Canada back in recent times.

This webinar will overlay insights from a Navitas agent survey conducted in September 2020 and March 2021 along with first-hand feedback from agents and an offshore network to give richness and context to the narrative coming through in the data. To conclude, the webinar will cast forward to make predictions on what 2021 might hold, including five reasons to be optimistic from a macro global standpoint.
