Thank you for your interest in the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE). After submitting your application, it will be reviewed by the CBIE Membership Committee and may take up to two (2) weeks to process. Following this review, you will receive an email with next steps, including instructions for payment.
Membership Criteria
Membership of the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) is open to Canadian post-secondary education institutions and school boards that are EduCanada brand eligible and adhere to the CBIE Code of Ethical Practice. At this time, only Canadian education institutions are eligible for membership.
EduCanada Brand Eligibility
Global Affairs Canada and the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC) jointly established a Brand Use Eligibility Policy, which ensures that only those educational institutions that provide assurance of high-quality education can use this national brand in their marketing. Each year, provinces and territories submit to CMEC a list of institutions that are eligible to apply to use the brand.
CBIE Code of Ethical Practice
In keeping with the CBIE mission, vision, and core values, the goal of this Code is to provide ethical guidelines for members to follow and against which they can assess their work. Members accept and agree to abide by this Code by virtue of their membership in CBIE. Members shall hold responsibility for individuals who act for or represent them in international education endeavours.
