Opportunities
Professional Learning Communities
Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) bring members together in facilitated peer groups to exchange knowledge, explore shared challenges, and advance practice in key areas of international education, offering a valuable space to connect, collaborate, and learn from colleagues across the sector. Steering Committee members play a key leadership role in guiding the PLC’s activities and priorities and can expect to dedicate approximately 4 to 10 hours per month to committee meetings, collaborative planning, and related initiatives.
The application process will open in the fall.
Education Abroad (EA)
The EA-PLC provides a forum for professionals in the fields of education abroad and global learning to share knowledge, organize projects and activities, and enhance their competencies.
Espace Francophone (EF)
The EF-PLC provides a forum for people working in international education, with the aim of fostering exchanges with the Francophone international education community.
International Relations (IR)
The IR-PLC creates a space for discussion, learning, and collaboration for International Relations Officers and others whose work focuses on supporting and promoting international collaborations.
International Network of Tomorrow’s Leaders (INTL)
The IR-PLC creates a space for discussion, learning, and collaboration for International Relations Officers and others whose work focuses on supporting and promoting international collaborations.
Marketing, Recruitment & Admissions (MRA)
The MRA-PLC provides a space for practitioners to champion ethical, innovative, and inclusive approaches to international marketing, recruitment, and admissions that contribute to the growth and sustainability of Canada’s international education sector.
Student Advising – Conseil aux étudiants (SACE)
The SACE PLC creates a space for an effective support network and forum of discussion and works to address the needs of IE practitioners who provide international student advising within Canada’s institutions.
Immigration Advisory Committee (IAC)
The application process will open in the spring of 2027.
The Immigration Advisory Committee (IAC) brings together sector experts to provide strategic advice on immigration issues impacting international education, contributing insights that inform CBIE’s initiatives and engagement with stakeholders.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is composed of committed senior leaders whose knowledge of international education makes a strong contribution to CBIE’s governance and strategic direction.
CBIE strives for a Board that is balanced, diverse, and inclusive, and that incorporates a strong range of skills, experiences, and perspectives to advance the organization’s mission.
