Brazil manages two programs which can be of interest to Canadian researchers wishing to conduct research in Brazil:
This program of 12-36 month scholarship for new researchers seeks to attract young researchers who have an excellent track record in the admissible fields of research. Host organizations will also receive financial support. Up to 100 scholarships will be awarded every year.
Proposals have to be submitted by a host researcher in Brazil, exclusively through the online application form, available here. Proposals should include a description of the research project and a copy of the candidate’s curriculum vitæ, which should be uploaded through the Lattes Platform. This platform is an integrated, searchable database for individual researchers, research groups and R&D organizations.
Eligibility:
• Open to Canadians and other foreigners and Brazilians residing abroad
Benefits:
• Research allowance of $10,000-$20,000 reais/year
• Living stipend of up to $7000 reais/month
• $7000 reais settlement allowance
• Return plane ticket

This program of 24-26 month scholarship for distinguished researchers seeks to attract internationally recognized senior researchers who are leaders in the admissible fields of research of the CsF program, to conduct projects with Brazilian research groups and visit Brazil for up to three months each year over two to three years.

Proposals should include a description of the research project and a copy of the candidate’s curriculum vitæ, which should be uploaded through the Lattes Platform. This platform is an integrated, searchable database for individual researchers, research groups and R&D organisations.

Benefits:
• Research allowance of up to $50,000 reais/year
• Living stipend of $14,000 reais/month
• Up to three round-trip air tickets to conduct research
