ALT Scholars Internet Connectivity Bursary

We know that access to fast, reliable Internet is vital to alumni of the African Leaders of Tomorrow (ALT) in participating in the online Leadership Certificate Program and other initiatives under the ALT 2021 Extension Projects. Participation from all ALT alumni to reconnect online with fellow scholars, network and further develop skills in leadership is a critical measure of the program’s success.

About the Bursary

ALT alumni may qualify for funding to help pay for internet connectivity costs from June to the end of September 2021 to participate in the online Leadership Certificate Program and other initiatives. This bursary is a needs-based bursary specifically for alumni who do not have adequate internet connectivity to participate in the program. The funding is not intended to cover the costs of technology equipment.

The bursary amounts will vary depending on the need required over four months and will be conditional on full participation in the online Leadership Certificate Program. Bursary funds will be disbursed in two instalments, the first at the end of July and the last at the end of the program in September, conditional on participation in the program. To request the two reimbursements, alumni will submit an ALT Reimbursement form with the related receipts. Reimbursements will be done via e-transfers; consequently banking information will be required.

Eligibility Requirements
  • This bursary is ONLY available to alumni of the African Leaders of Tomorrow (ALT) program.
  • Alumni must be enrolled in the online Leadership Certificate Program and fully participate in the program from June to September 2021.
