We will continue the discussion from Part I<\/a> of this series and see how International Relations colleagues across Canada are facing the challenges around the implementation of these tools, and what is holding them back from putting such tools in place.<\/p>\n

Following on from the strong interest from Part I, Andrea Delgado Morrow from the University of Calgary and Suhair Deeb from Ryerson University will take us through their assessment models International Partnership Assessment Rating Index (IPARI) and International Partnership Assessment Tool (IPAT) respectively and discuss how their institutions are using these tools in practice.<\/p>\n

As part of the session, participants will be able to discuss barriers and challenges, brainstorm solutions, identify opportunities, and determine a path forward in embarking upon this often daunting task. Colleagues will be able to share with their counterparts across Canada different strategies to overcome these barriers and hear other success stories.<\/p>\n

<\/div>[vc_column_text]St\u00e9phanie Dion holds a Master degree in International Management (M.B.A.) from Universit\u00e9 Laval (Quebec), which she partly realized at Tecnol\u00f3gico de Monterrey (Mexico). She counts on more than fifteen years in the field of internationalization of higher education, working in different countries and institutions. Through diverse roles, she has conducted large projects to encourage universities\u2019 international expansion, fostered collaboration with organizations from Quebec, Canada and abroad and gained an in-depth understanding of the issues and challenges related to universities\u2019 international development. St\u00e9phanie is an agent of change at Polytechnique Montr\u00e9al operating with a transversal and collaborative approach in order to engage the university\u2019s stakeholders in the internationalization process.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=\u00a0\u00bb1\/1″]

<\/div>[vc_column_text]Andrea Delgado Morrow is the director, international relations for the University of Calgary\u2019s international office where she and the team are responsible for institutional partnerships and agreements. She holds an MA in intercultural and international communication from Royal Roads University. Andrea has over 15 years of experience working in post-secondary education.<\/p>\n

This includes University of Calgary, regional manager (Asia Pacific) and associate faculty member at Royal Roads University and Mount Royal University (Faculty of Communication). Throughout her career Andrea has been active in the international education realm sitting on various committees and currently sits on the steering committee for the Canadian Bureau for International Education\u2019s international relations professional learning community.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=\u00a0\u00bb1\/1″]

Suhair Deeb<\/h4>\n

<\/div>[vc_column_text]Suhair joined Ryerson International in 2003. She is responsible for providing advice on various student international programing models and the development of university-wide agreements with international institutions. Suhair liaises among faculty\/staff, partner institutions and various internal and external stakeholders to support partnership development.<\/p>\n

Previously, Suhair held various positions in the area of Canadian immigration with the Government of Canada and immigration law and consultancy firms. Suhair obtained a MSc. In International Business and Management from the UK and a MA in Immigration and Settlement Studies from Ryerson University.
