Description

Marketing and recruitment efforts for your education abroad opportunities are foundational to the success of your program. How can education institutions ensure that outreach efforts are inclusive and attract diverse students? In this workshop, participants will reflect on their current marketing and recruitment activities and discuss strategies and approaches to better engage underrepresented student populations, particularly low-income students, students with disabilities and Indigenous students in study and work abroad programming.

Topics discussed will include:

  • Ensuring marketing efforts are representative of all students and are culturally sensitive.
  • Enhancing recruiting activities to include a broader range of student experiences and interests.
  • Identifying potential partners and stakeholders that can help administrators connect with students from all backgrounds.
  • Understanding how bias may be present in the application process.

Simultaneous Interpretation will be available for this workshop with the exception of the breakout rooms. There will be one French-language breakout room available.
