Registration Deadline: October 12
Awareness of mental health issues is critical for those working with inbound and outbound students.  Focusing our attention on mental health can prevent crises and ensure students can fully and safely participate on campus and in the community.
OVERVIEW

Throughout this course, participants will explore tools and approaches to help individuals developing a mental health problem, experiencing the worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis. Through a self-led online course, participants will have the opportunity to acquire a common language and theory surrounding the main manifestations of mental health crises for international students. In the subsequent live session, participants will work with our facilitator to dig into real-life situations experienced by incoming and outgoing international students. During the session, participants will have the opportunity to discuss what level of care students might require, the appropriate level of intervention based on their role in their institution, and who they can turn to for additional support. Our training approach is participatory and interactive. To get the most out of this session, learners should come prepared with questions and examples relating to their professional reality.

Note: This training is also being offered in french. Click on the “Français” link located in the top right-hand corner of your screen to view all the info and register to join the french cohort.
