Elizabeth Paterson International Student of the Year Award

The International Student of the Year Award Program asks international students to offer their insights into the study-in-Canada experience. They must do this by writing a one-page letter telling family or friends what it's like to study in Canada, what they see as the advantages of their Canadian academic career, and their achievements so far.
The International Student of the Year is selected based upon the information provided in the letter as well as its freshness and energy.
The International Student of the Year receives a $500 cash prize. Honorable mentions are also awarded to two “runners-up” who receive prizes of $200 and $100 respectively. The International Student of the Year and honorable mentions are recognized in CBIE publications and annual conference.
This competition is launched in December of each year and runs to mid-February.

Each year in June, nominations are submitted by the CBIE membership. The Awards Committee, a sub-committee of the CBIE Board, analyses the list of nominees and chooses the individual(s) who they believe most closely fit the criteria. Nominators are informed in September whether their nominee was selected and awards are distributed at the CBIE Conference in October or November.
