ANNUAL CONFERENCE

Internationalization for All

Ottawa, ON   |   The Westin Ottawa   |   November 13-16, 2016

Thank you for joining us at our 50th Annual Conference in Ottawa and helping us to celebrate our 50th anniversary.

Our Conference was particularly special this year because we paid tribute to the vision and commitment of Professor Thomas H.B. Symons, bestowing on him the Canadian Bureau for International Education Founders Award at our gala evening. I’m sure I speak for all of us when I say it was an extremely moving and symbolic moment. I am also delighted and honoured that the first recipient of the Founders Award, our patron the Governor General, was able to provide opening remarks not only to acknowledge this milestone year but also to speak about the importance of our national conversation on learning abroad.

I would also like to acknowledge and thank every one of the advisory committee members, CBIE employees and volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this the most successful Conference ever with a record- hitting 870 delegates attending.

We hope that you will be with us again in 2017 as we celebrate our 51st Annual Conference next November in Halifax.
